Using the parking pawl exclusively without the parking brake will progressively wear the pawl mechanism and will have it have more and more slack. The parking brake on the F8X does not clamp the main discs, so it has no effect on “cooling” as you say. Further, clamped hot brakes may leave pad imprints, but will not warp the rotors.

Well my mistake, thanks for the info. Didn't realize these were utilizing a parking pawl instead of the transmission gears.

As for the parking brake, I have defiantly read articles stating that the uneven cooling from using the ebrake can lead to warped rotors. Maybe not with the f80, but on other vehicles.
