That is very true. Options are killer and no one buys a base Porsche of any kind. My friend went to the local Porsche dealer looking to get a base Boxster S and they pretty much laughed at him and was told that generally customers add around $20k worth of options.

I personally wanted the 991 GT3 but with some basic options it came to $162k. Base price was $149k and I wasn't even checking off the anything fancy options.
GT3 base price is 130k.

At 162k you've ticked almost every option in the book.
