I don't think this is right, as I didn't finance my M2 yet I got the invite. I got another invite for the M3 which is leased through BMWFS.
The USB drive gift box comes with a thank you card and message about the M car control class. It's signed by the dealership GM, so I think that contacting the dealer is a way to start complaining about not get anything.
