The above experiment(s) did not prove to be true in my case.. Ran the same tests, with same variables and the result was my unit stayed on for over 10,20,30+ minutes. I said the hell with it, and did the mirror tap. Took all of 10 minutes and there are no more unwanted power drains that I'm unaware of.
Thank god there are quality forums for help!
