Law enforcement is hamstrung at doing their jobs due to a class of *elites* pushing various policies that conform to their idealistic vision of the world... which bears no semblance to reality.
As a result, the average man suffers.
If we truly live in a democracy, which I do not believe so (primary reason being that the political system of a state does not supersede the cyclical nature of man), then all of our present ailments pertaining to crime, what leads to it, and how to prevent it would resolve, coming about naturally as a result of a free market of ideas.
