BMW F32 M3 Renderings and Impressions.

The German auto publication Auto Zeitung have begun to speculate on the next BMW M3 Coupe (F32). Whilst some of the details especially of the front end are very similar and not far from exact of the new 3er Sedan. The Coupe repeats the formula that begun with the current 3er Coupe (E92) and offers a car that is more sleeker and sportier than the relevant sedan. A Design formula that has made the E92 our most successful 3er Coupe yet.

Here the artist has introduced a car that looks neither sleek , nor sporty but rather stubby , and the inclusion of CS Concept wheels adds more lack of believeibility. The aerodynamics packet seems to indicate a direction seen with the Gran Coupe Concept with vertical scoops being one such look being pursued by the M division design team.
The rear view mirrors conform to a new angular approach and is shown here to be very similar for the upcoming M cars in the next two years.

The next M3 will remain as a Coupe and Cabrio. The Sedan is not part of the product plan although there is discussion ongoing on whether to add a Touring model or indeed another variant.
One such idea is a similar model to the recent Gran Coupe Concept which will enter production as the BMW 6er Gran Coupe and to prevent cross-competition with the 5er will only be available as a V8 , 50d and an M Variant. The Gran Coupe will be about exclusivity.

Such an idea is under discussion for a Gran Coupe variant of the 3er , which would fill the space of an M3 Sedan. As of yet nothing is final.

What is known about the new Six cylinder engine will be in the region of 450PS, and will be based on the incoming engine that will power the M 1er Coupe model. When I say based it follows the convention of a more individual approach which will be evident between the V8's in the X-M models and the incoming M5 and M6- No two engines will be the same with the M5 being more powerful than the X-M's and the M6 being more powerful than both the X's and the M5. The focus is on adapting the engine to the car , so that power etc are completely compatible with the car. It is not one transplant to the next car it is about making sure the cars all stand apart .

The new M3 will follow the route taken by the next M6. Again a High Performance mid-sized and large Coupe but with room for four passengers.
A BMW customer needs their flexibility.

The M6 although based on and sharing tech with the M5 will be BMW M's flagship. Indeed when I spoke to some M engineers today , mainly about the one, (update coming soon) but mentioned in passing that the M6 has been spotted.
Apparently same V8 and tech set-up as the M5 , but M6 is lighter , and will have more power than the M5 - suggests with the M5 twenty from 600PS. Whilst M6 will top about 600PS.

A priority for the M6 is too make it more individual from the M5 in every way possible , a high performance BMW Sports car but with 4 seats.
They are Looking at additional and potential M6 Performance+ models (not variants) after initial market integration period.

If the previous M line up thrilled and awed what with the E60 , E63 and E92.
The next M Division line up which will also include the 1 will be one that our competitors will be envious about for a very long period.
