So let's say the compressor is staying engaged the whole time during idle/cruise...this is cooling your intercooler below ambient temps yes. Your intake air temps are low yes. Now when you go and do a pull, the compressor shuts off and stops cooling the intercooler (when you want it the most)...so you only get a short duration burst of cool air and the rise in intake temps is a much higher ramp rate than an optimum cooling solution.

Now also add this into the mix...all that heat you removed is just going to the front of the car, into your intakes, into your radiator/heat exchanger...if the AC condenser was at the rear of the car, ok this is not as bad...but still not ideal considering you're performing work on the car when you don't need to.

How about the concept of your inside air conditioning still working at the same time as the interchiller...well this is flawed as well because now your compressor has to do even more work to cool both your intake and your interior...this is a huge loss in efficiency with zero payback.

Then add in the extra wear on the compressor and risk of your cooling system going into limp mode (which I've personally seen on an upgraded turbo, built motor F80 at a race who was a personal friend that I tried spitballing ideas to fix this). Not worth the risk of this imo and you're reducing the reliability of the car as a whole.

First law of thermodynamics wins this one [...]
Good reference points and feedback, will contact FI Interchillers w/ the arguments made above, and will post up responses.

First though, if an FI kit, was this the stage1 or stage2 option? Cabin ac may be effected w/ the stage 1 option.

Also will ask about increased strain on a/c system leading to failure.
