The difference between the id4 and id5 hardware is memory. I'm guessing BMW doesn't want to provide a compromised experience in the ID4 model. What doesn't make sense is that BMW released a revised system for 2016 (nbt evo) and then revised it again in less than a year to the nbt evo with 4gb of memory.
