It has something to do with not wanting to step over the M5's toes

M3 can't be more power than M5...

we surely dont want that to happen, or at least they dont want it to happen.

And plus 6 cyl to claim fuel economy... Corvette doesn't care about fuel eco... and it would be blasphemy for the Corvette to get anything less than the V8.
Corvettes don't care about fuel Eco? My dads c5 would get 33mpg on the highway. His current c6 zo6 gets 26. An updated v8 engine should be going into this car with a lightened body. This is not going to be doing much better than the current v8 in terms of mpg. The m5 isn't much better than the previous and still has a guzzler tax. Pathetic.
