I prefer iDrive because I have all functions with 1 short press for voice commands (Which work extremely well) or I can use the iDrive controller. I can also still use almost all SuckPlay functions with a long press via Siri. I've given up on "Hey Siri" as it usually doesn't work.

SuckPlay connection is almost completely driven by Siri Voice control and defeats a lot of iDrive functionality (Or at least makes it difficult).

BTW I have a 2017 with ID5...ID6 is supposed to be even better.

Bottom line is CarPlay should improve over time but BMW's integration probably can't be fixed.
