Doesn’t matter what state or insurance company. You come in contact with any animal that’s always comprehensive. Collision claims imply the accident was your fault. Not the case when a wild animal runs out and hits your car. Therefore you need to fight tooth and nail for your insurance company to change the classification of your claim from collision to comprehensive. Main reason being they cannot raise your rates for a comprehensive claim but they can and most likely will for a collision claim. 10+ years working in the collision auto body industry. I see it every day. Insurance companies trying to mislead their customers which are not informed and educated on the facts.
