Drove a Cayman S for ~ 250 miles. It was really great, what you give up in sound is made up for in power, IMO. I was fortunate to drive a 6MT which was a good match for the torque. I would never buy a PDK. Drove a GTS as well and it sounded better, but for me the S is enough of a car for me.
Downsides
Getting in and out might get old.
2 seats. Do you like a lot of driving by yourself?
Would require anyone with kids to have another vehicle.
Draws a lot of attention.
Did I mention only 2 seats.
