So if this comes to pass it would make the score: BMW 3.0, Audi 3.0, Mercedes 4.0. It will indeed be interesting to watch. Of course, Mercedes has a 3.0L V6 coming online next year as well, but they plan to keep the V8 in the C class AMG for at least one more generation.

Bentley (part of VAG group) is rumoured to be bringing out a V6 TT powered hybrid, so very plausible.
