Dropping it off at her family's house is the worst idea! That's like winning the lottery, then saying "Ah, it's too much work to sign the back of the ticket and send it to the lottery commission, so I'm just going to give it back to the store".

It's an ABANDONED CAR that has been in your possession for MONTHS. There are legal ways to make it LEGALLY yours. Who cares if she comes back for it, it will be too late for her as it will legally be yours. Jesus
