BMW should do Direct Injection, which usually add's 15-17% in power an fuel efficiency. Then you add brake regen, along with the start stop and any other new BMW tech and it should easily put out 450HP and get 18/22mpg.
Yeah, the mileage won't be as good as a turbo, but at least you'll have a REAL //M engine.
They should have then blown this engine and put it in the F10 M5.
