They've already confirmed it's an I6, so it's just back to the E46 days, when the E46 with less power than the same motor in the old RS4, wasn't capable of winning comparisons. I6's certainly have more history with BMW than V8's, even if the turbo(s) are a good bit of sacrilege.
Given that the F80 will have more power than the E9x M3, which had no problems with the B7 RS4 or RS5, I don't see the new F80 having any trouble with the new RS4.
