I spec'd my m3 at just under 65k and it has a ton of features. I don't need 184734 different cameras and radar cruise control in this car. if you keep that stuff off, the price stays low.

Feels like they're offering more options- not making the car materially more expensive. If BMW had purposeful de-contented the car, raised the base price and made heated seats and NAV expensive options, you'd have a point. But they didn't.
Also- The comparison to Porsche isn't exactly fair as you'd
have to tick a few boxes to get a car with many of the now standard features on the M.
