Update: February 15, 2017
Trusty source ynguldyn has provided a small update in our
BMW model pipeline thread:
"Some specifics regarding US spec 2018 M4 CS: standard DCT, OLED lights, wheel/tire package off the GTS."
Update: February 13, 2017
As you saw in the
other thread, the BMW M4 CS was caught uncovered during a commercial shoot featuring BMW driver Augusto Farfus.
Update: January 11, 2017
We now know that the previously spied prototypes below are the upcoming M4 CS model (available at LCI this Summer) (
see confirmation) and we've just spied it undergoing cold climate testing.
The M4 CS will feature the competition package and some parts off the GTS (possibly suspension, brakes, exhaust, aero, etc.).
According to
our schedule, although the MY2017 M4 will end production in February, the MY2018 M4 LCI refreshed model will not start production until July. There will be a four month gap in production from the end of MY2017 to the beginning of MY2018.
Updated September 23, 2016 with some great closeups!
Updated August 11, 2016 with the clearest look yet at the M4 LCI with GTS Style Package, now with GTS style hood and a sportier trunk spoiler.
Here's the first clear look at the BMW M4 LCI facelift model. It sports the new headlight design as seen on
recent 4 Series LCI prototypes. If you recall, the E92 M3 facelift did not include a front end/headlight update, so the M4 LCI appears to feature more styling changes, which also includes new OLED tail lights as seen on this prototype and a
previously spotted prototype.
New Package?
While this prototype appears to resemble an M4 GTS, the absence of the GTS exhaust and rear wing tells us that it's not. So, we could possibly be looking at a new package -- perhaps a GTS Package which includes GTS style front lip, hood, wheels, and ceramic brakes.
What else?
This M4's interior is also covered, indicating possible updates to the dashboard design. The color is also new -- a lighter shade of grey than Mineral Grey, and resembling Donington Grey Metallic which debuted on the X5M/X6M.
