Sure, but The Lime Rock Edition is just shorthand for an M3 with all (or just about all) options, Individual Fire Orange paint, and Individual interior touches. So it cannot predict the base price of the next car. It is essentially an anomaly.

I expect that M division will distinguish the M3 and M4 prices in a similar way that we've heard they will distinguish the 3 and 4 prices. That is to say that there will be a modest upcharge for the latter model. I would figure about $5k more for an M4 vs an M3, perhaps as much as 7k or so but no more than that.

I agree that this could push the M4 base price a bit over 70k. But it won't be by much if so.
