Hi All, a bit late to the party on this one so have gone for a punt on a new set of winters by GripMax (they make off road SUV tyres normally).
They have made a set of "Performance" winter tyres that were very reasonably priced (500 euros including P&P from Germany) for a full set (2x 275/35/19, 2x 255/35/19) so I'll see how they do...
Worst case, they are awful and I chuck them back on eBay.
Best case, I recommend them all to you and don't crash my car in the snow/ice
