I really hope this is true. The xDrive option first became a viable option when the X5 paid for its development. It has come a long way since then but there is no denying its SUV origins. Now that we have the M versions of the X5 and X6 we can probably thank the SUV once again. The M3 is a flagship for the BMW brand so if they stick an AWD in it, it won't be a convenience option, it will add to performance.

Turbo plus AWD in an M3? This is my dream car.

To all you AWD haters, what possibly could be the harm with having it as an option? Just don't check off the xDrive box when configuring it and you can go on with your pursuit of the RWD ideal.
