This is just the ballpark he gave me. To be honest, the car really didn't NEED anything, he was just saying that in order for them to get their money out of certifying it (adding the extended warranty for the M, etc) it would end up putting the car out of its value. Meaning they would have to ask too much for it based on year/mileage, etc.
In any case, it didn't stop me from buying it and I have enjoyed the shit out of it since I've had it. My only regret is that I didn't wait and get one with a carbon roof but it is what it is. We are all lucky to have these cars.

Well, that dealer was full of shit. If the car didn't need anything to meet CPO standards, the only real cost they'd have to certify is the warranty which is nowhere near that cost (and they would markup when selling). Good to see you didn't pay it - enjoy the car.
