Well, my experience driving the current M3/4 has been limited to a few M4's with no Comp Pkg w/ DCT.

Personally, I found them very spikey. The chassis did not feel very well buttoned down, ride quality was poor, sound is pretty lame, DCT is nowhere near as good as VW/Audi's DSG, and the car just did not instill a lot of confidence to push it. I felt more at home and 'in sync' with the AMG GTS that I was also driving for the first time, right after the M4, than in the BMW.

And size wise, the M4 feels like a boat compared the TT RS. I don't know that I could think of a better car for dicing up traffic and having fun on road in an urban setting. Car makes surrounding traffic a game to play.
