I disagree on this. The S-Tronic (DSG) does have a more standard automatic feel primarily because the creep mode is so good. Other than that, it is every bit as fast as BMW’s DCT. Same goes for Porsche’s PDK which clearly has the same lineage as the DSG. The PDK is the best in the business re: dual clutches.
BTW, I just picked up a 2017 Audi S6. 450hp 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 with 7 speed S-Tronic. The thing is quite the sleeper - comfortable cruiser on the highway and flip it into dynamic mode and it is an absolute beast.
