I was going to buy 2013 M3 but was having a real hard time with the above stated issues. Thought about the last year of the V8 also. But I knew if I bought the old body style I would hate it when the new ones come out. Picked up a AH3 M sport and love it. But it left open the option of me getting the M3 or M4 when they are available.
It's a hard choice to buy old Tech when you know fancy and new is right around the corner. But I will miss the roar of that V8. But I do thing the AH3 in ECO Boost is a nice middle car between the 335 and the new M3.
Best of luck with your decisions. It was hard for me not to buy the M with V8. But I saved so much on Ah3 it made things ok.
