So, I am looking at HRE 101LW 19" which weight about 17 and 18 LBS appx front and rear. The cost is over $10K wheels, tires, etc.

My understanding the stock OEM 19" wheels weigh about 23 and 24 lbs (front/rear).

So, for the car, there is about a total of 20 lbs of weight reduction; unsprung; maybe 5+ lbs per wheel.

I plan on installing Michelin SS 265/35/19 MO and 295/35/19 Star * which have been subject of another thread and seem like the logical choice for me.

The M4 is not a DD; rather, a weekend/fun days; maybe 1-2 tracks days per year. Lots of curvy roads in foothills, Sierras, etc. Occasional week long road trip, etc.

QUESTION: Will one really notice a clear increase in performance/ overall ride improvement? Objectively. Will changing the tires alone to 265/295 be sufficient upgrade? Now, factor in the $10K cost?

If you have upgraded your F8x wheels like or similar---I would value your opinion, even if just subjective thoughts. Or, have some real world experience with these issues---please let me know.

I am putting aside aesthetics/looks/cool factor, etc. The HREs look really cool IMO along with some other wheels.

As a side: I did recently install the MP Coilovers (HAS)---clearly improved performance over stock springs 100%.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Upgrading wheels and using those sizes if u ask me are a waste. Those tires you want are meant for a stock 9" front and 10" rear 437m wheel application (and to save money). You will be eliminating some unsprung weight and you will feel it a little but it is insignificant.

If you wanted to upgrade your wheels you might have to sacrifice your ride a little bit because you would most definitely want to do a MPSS or PS2 265/35/19 and 305/30/19. I would definitely go with the 10" front and 11" rear. A lightweight set from HRE is what I would do ideally.
