I can see that the car hits the curb and the brake lights going on. To me it would be the force of hitting the curb that straighten up the car.
I don't know how going hard on the brakes during a drift would whip a car straight
ESP can straighten up a car by using the brakes independently, but there is no way that is going to happen if the driver is hitting the brakes during a drift... (if it did, then there would be no need for ESP
You could just hit the brakes to straighten up the car...)
Have you ever tried smashing the brakes during a drift? I have done it several times and have never experienced the car being straightened up by hitting the brakes. Quite the contrary, it only exagerates the drift/loss of control. Leaving the ESP on however makes a difference. On a good system you can really feel how it straightens up the car (I have done comparison tests between different cars at a track and the difference between ESP systems was noticeable in higher speeds).
