I'm afraid that the tune will screw up my warranty. Eurocharge claims the dealer won't even know it's there.

Does your car run the same? Better/worse mileage? I'm just concerned with voiding my warranty, main reason I'm now considering the Dinan tune.

Depends on what you mean by "run the same". Obviously now the car has more balls due to the increased boost, but I've been told that a flash tune will retain more "oem-like feel" in performance, whereas the JB4 has more of an aggressive onset of power. I haven't driven a eurocharged M so I can't verify for myself, but the JB4 definitely packs a punch. I can't comment on mileage yet as I've definitely been driving a lot harder with the JB4.

If you're concerned with warranty, and that is your primary concern, then DINAN is hands down the way to go. The company is obviously very reputable and has a good history of R&D in their products. Nothing comes from there without peace of mind. As far as I know, the DINAN tune is the only one that plugs directly into the ECU (has to be installed at a certified dealer) and alters ALL of the engine's operating parameters, as opposed to just some of them like the other piggybacks.

On the other hand, DINAN is obviously pricey, 2.5x the price of either the JB4 or a eurocharged tune. I went with a JB4 because of the added customization. The JB4 lets me: control exhaust valves, disable/enable active sound, increase LED angel eye brightness, run preset maps or custom tuned map, limit boost in gears 1-3, turn the tune off completely, do datalogging and clear engine codes (from downpipes). In fact, you can do all of these on-the-fly, through your turn signal stalk which is very handy. The JB4 also retains resale value, unlike a eurocharged flash.

Happy with my JB4 so far, no issues.

Well, thank you for all the info. I think I'm going with JB4. Now, who to do I go to? I'm in Windsor.

newbie question: why do you need more torque when the car already has more torque than traction in first and second gear.

That's right. I believe in Canada only BMW Dealerships can service and install DINAN, so I assume the work will have to be done there?

+1 on good SA comment

Yeah eurocharged tune . They are up in Toronto just past 400 highway off Allen road..I drove up from London on Friday. It was ecu bench flash for my n20. They are also fully Dinan dealer now as well I took the dinan catalog home. They had several m4s there being worked on and a ymb m3 on the hoist. A nice looking matte black m4 with rear wing was outside. Ferraris lambos porsches and a sick twin turbo r8 v10! These guys have quite the setup.

Sorry to bring up this old thread but I was wondering how the guys who went with the Euocharged tune are liking it, any issues? Also like SSM46mt said why did you need more power since the car gets loose easily enough with a stock set up?

The thought of more power is always great but are there any real benefits other than the obvious?

This is my daily driver (even in the winter), I already have a well tuned and set up track car (E46 M3) however I am still thinking about getting my F80 tuned.

Thanks for your comments

JB4 is better, when something happens you can take it off. ECU flash needs to open DME module and write in new parameters, that is so detectable by dealership

Eurocharged claims their tune is 100% undetectable. I DO NOT want to mess up my warranty whatsoever and honestly don't feel like paying $1,800 for Dinan tune.

Why did you decide to tune using JB other than for the reason you just mentioned, why did you tune at all?

U open up the DME and flash it, puma can detect it.

JB4 is better if you are worried about warranty.
