M3 for sale - which individual color?
Hey guys,
Bro in law is looking to buy an M3 comp after driving mine. Found this one. What color is it? VIN decoders are less than helpful. https://www.hgreglux.com/used-car/bm...-for-sale-9357 Thanks! |

Could be San Marino, Avus, or possibly Le Mans. The individual plaque is just out of view due to the image resolution on their site. It's in pic 65 on the right side of the engine bay

One of the close up photos make it look like Estoril Blue without lighting.
I am leaning LeMans. The photo's lighting makes it hard to tell.

Agreed on that probably being LeMans Blue. Hera Mica and SMB are both a bit darker than that (could just be the lighting though I guess, but still)

I reached out to dealer to ask for a pic of the plaque. Market is for sure crazy but 4K miles is basically new.
I'm biased but thinking these final production year, manual, comp, well optioned, desirable color combo M3s will hold their value well even after market stabilizes. Also helps that most people don't like how new M3s look and that you cant get a comp in manual anymore. Plus xDrive for newest models even with RWD option makes the F80s that much more rare / desirable. |

That price is correct for this market amazingly. My 18 M4 with 29,800 miles on it has a high private of $60.5k right now on KBB. Prices up up up along with everything else. I have no idea why anyone just wouldn’t buy new now, no matter how horrible looking the new cars are another 10-15k gets brand new, full warranty, full maintenance, etc. New M4s are sitting on lots everywhere, they’re very easy to find. Due to all the shortages though, I imagine you’d have to pay sticker no matter how poorly the cars are selling.
Nothing makes sense any longer, hyper inflation is only just beginning too. |

No. Whoever buys this for $69K is going to experience worse depreciation than buying a new car. My local dealer recently sold a M3 CS with 7K miles for $72K. No way I’d buy a normal M3 for $3K less.
Good luck to you all. Don’t let the hype get to you. |

Definitely either LeMans Blue or San Marino blue.
Here's a pretty good thread comparing multiple different blues. Unfortunately it doesn't show a LeMans Blue example BMW Blues Photoshoot - 6 Shades of BMW Blue - PIC HEAVY https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1521545 |

I have the identical car (with 1K more miles). Individual blue, LCI M3 (meaning 2018), 6 spd, comp pckg, low miles. Checks all the boxes. I wouldn’t sell mine for $70K, but that’s because I couldn’t replace it with anything I’d want (most Pcar models I looked at are $10-20K higher than last year).
If this is the one that someone on here recently sold it is in fact Avus. To me it looks like LeMans Blue or Avus

It does look close to my Lemans blue 135.
But I think it’s slightly lighter.

I didn’t appreciate that car has only 4K miles. I’m still not sure about $69K but I could see it as a value at $60K and a reasonable decision at $65K.
Edit: as someone recently looking for exactly this car I showed the ad to my wife. As predicted she immediately said "why wouldn't we buy a new one for $2K more?" Even assuming we could negotiate it down to $65K it's too close to new for us. Last edited by Multimodal; 05-06-2021 at 08:20 PM.. |
