Would you be able to post up a video of the start with the flaps open? Since the GTS has the M Performance exhaust I'm curious to hear it with the ZCP exhaust.

I'm not sure if the open valve trick works in the ZCP as valves are always open at first start for a second. I haven't hooked my JB4 up yet to force the valves open, that will happen soon as well. |

ASD is much different in the ZCP. It is hardly noticeable and much less "synthetic". Sounds much deeper. That said, I can't wait to code it off as I prefer to hear more exhaust note. |

TMK, the "ZCP" is pretty much a fixed deal, set in stone. If the wheels are your only issue, you can always sell them and switch them. I'm sure there will be lots who like them and/or Poseurs who want their car to "have" the Competition Package. Pretty much like "///M" badges. I personally will be switching out the wheels to 19"'s and De-Badging. Last edited by Dr. Who; 05-11-2016 at 05:40 PM.. |

I'm glad you like your new ZCP, and it is quite evident from other reviews that the ZCP is certainly a better car than the non-ZCP, but your review makes it sound like the the non-ZCP is a 1979 Ford Pinto, and the ZCP is a Ferrari. That just ain't true. If I was buying an M today, I would certainly, without a doubt, check the ZCP box. But I won't be trading in my M4 for a ZCP M4, especially given the financial loss that would entail. The ZCP seems to be well worth the $5.5k cost. However, it is not worth the $5.5k plus $10-15k loss. Enjoy your ZCP, and I will enjoy mine, and be about a tenth of second slower than you out on the track. I'm fine with that.

Maybe when we try and code it off .. I'll tell the difference. It was one of the first things we noticed while driving .. completely different sounding inside the car. |

Cool. Nice write-up. Now I have to dissect the "early adopter tax" by figuring out the mods that close the gap!

You write ''Handling: The car is more planted (especially stock) and traction isn't an issue at stock power levels in both straight line and lateral metrics.''
What is different on the ZCP car to have a better handling? |

Wonder how much of this can be coded into the non comp cars. Sounds like a majority probably has more to do with stability control and how it kicks in. This certainly looks promising. http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=151683 . Apparently even the sound is different.
The competition package definitely sounds like a significant improvement and refinement of the of the car, but honestly from street driving alone I have never even gotten close to the limit of this car. Hoping to going to the track to change that, but I've always found it to have quite good traction, control, and corners flat. |
