If you hadn't put a deposit on the car, it's open slather until someone does. Even a few hundred dollars would have sealed the deal. If you were both in the dealership with different salesmen, and the other guy gets in before you, would you think the same?

I had the same with an e46 m3 almost a year ago. I rang on the Saturday and said I'd get a Pre-Purchase done on the Monday, and I got a call Sunday saying someone put a deposit on it.

Money talks, you should have put money down.

Are you referring to the E60 M5's steering or the new F10 M5's steering? Unless I'm mistaken, most reviews love the new M5's steering since it is a traditional rack and pinion unlike the old V10 which was electro-hydraulic and the E39 which had a recirculating ball steering.

Exactly. I have read nothing but praise for the F10 M5's hydraulic steering.

Steve Sutcliffe said so in his review and I remember seeing some other reviews which stated that the steering feeling wasn't too great.

Why does BMW keep placing those ugly support bars in front of the radiator in all it's new cars?

Do you really think they'd waste their time and money putting them there if they weren't necessary?

Then again, Scott just said there should be spyshots of the X3M soon, so ignore everything I've just said.

I hope Scott is right. I need a suv for the my next auto, if the X3M doesn't materialize. Looks like I might be getting a Cayenne.

Looks alright I guess! I use rubber mats which seems to stand up well to wear and tear all year round

The timing on this car will be perfect, wife and I will prob have a kid by the time the second model year roles out. Will need to trade the E92M for a sedan, what better than an M3 sedan.

I still have plenty of time to enjoy the glory of the S65.

I'm trying really hard to wait until the second model year too. My two main reasons for waiting are 1), to see if any major issues pop up with the car and 2), by then the asinine dealer mark ups, adjust market value or whatever they want to call it, will mostly be gone by then.
Child seats work great in the E46 M3 by the way.

Interview with Ian Robertson for UK Broadsheet.

There have been rumors that the new Coupe and Cabrio will be carrying a 4-series badge. What does this mean for the M3?
"The M3 is enormously important to us" I cannot confirm the rumours, but whatever the badges on the bootlid, there will be an M3 Model.

Note- Whatever the badges. and There will be an M3 model instead of model(s).

If BMW makes the ///M3 a sedan and ///M4 a coupe that is major FAIL. Sorry, but the best ///M sedan is the ///M5, the ///M3 has always been the flagship coupe. I mean, there hasn't always been a sedan, it seems like it comes and goes every other year model year.

If they label the coupe as an ///M4 I'm gonna blow my top. Seriously, why does BMW think DIFFERENT = BETTER. As much as holding on to the past is no good, just chucking it aside isn't either.

But who am I kidding, I'm sure most of the ///M buying public has no idea the history of ///M or even what size engine is under their hoods, nor do they care. Sad really.

Cheers,
e46e92
