Wow, yeah, that actually made me laugh.

In fact, I don't really even understand exactly what you are supposed to do with that. Where is the the claspe for the belt? Is it somehow that black "dongle" at the end of the part sticking out on the driver's side? If so, there appears to be no more than eight inches between the belt and the latch. I guess it would function in a pinch, but certainly not a feasible seating location for any planned outing with a drive of any appreciable distance. And no shoulder belt, apparently. I sware my E90 had a shoulder belt in the middle seat, but I could be misremembering.

I suppose the idea is that you could use the LATCH anchors and put a child seat there? However, I don't even see center LATCH mounts. It looks like only the outboard seats have them, where those little pull tabs are (zippers?). Even if there are center ones, that would work out only for young kids. Once the kid passes toddler age, prepare to see them kick the shit out of those radio controls, and probably destroy them in the process.

While the sedan is more convenient I know the coupe will probably look nice and right now I don't "need" the 4 door. Would you guys recommend 2 door over 4 door? What other advantages would the 2 door have performance wise. I know its all speculation right now but Im just looking for some input to help me decide.
i own the sedan and i dont agree that the coupe looks better. the coupe appears sportier. sedans look like a menacining M5 . sedans are rare too look at bmw dealers they all have used coupes but no m3 sedans. car is the best car i ever had and i may hold on forever or at least until the new m3 turbo proves it has no engine issues or defects like the 335 had. if the new one gets awesome reviews and has zero issues breaks a 4.0 0 to 60 and a 745 nurburgring then i will buy

I prefer the sedan for its everyday utility - more doors and it's cheaper! As far as performance sedan vs coupe, it probably will only matter on the track and they are so close the driver will make the difference. That said, Turner Motorsport says the e90 sedan is the better track car: Why a sedan and not a coupe? We've always thought of the M3 as a "touring car", probably stemming from the glory days of Touring Car racing, back when E36 320i sedans ruled a mixed field of assorted production cars, many of which were 4 door sedans. Starting around that point, the sedans have seemed to possess a certain extra charm, reminiscent of the throw-back Touring Car days, with an extra street car "cool factor". If that isn't a good enough explanation, we also have reason to believe this latest 4 door M3 has better aerodynamics than the coupe, due to the rear windshield configuration.

In my opinion, if BMW breaks apart the sedan and coupe to M3/M4 there will be distinct differences. I think for the M4 it will be a performance tweak.

I would get the M4 simply because I'm guessing the coupe is prettier than the sedan.
Plus the bodywork of the 2-door coupe has a higher rigidity than that of a 4-door sedan. To be honest, probably only guys like Lewis Hamilton will notice the difference.

For practicality, I take wifey's X5.
