Definitely, I can bet it will have them similar to 1M, the question is will it have them in the rear as well and if not it will not look proportional.

It shows that there will be M6 front design details as well.

Finally some better spypics. Will the M4 have a different front bumper? It's interesting to see that unlike the E46 and E90 that the middle intake is now smaller and the outer ducts are larger. I think the middle looks like the M5 and the outer ducts look like 1M/M6.

Makes no sense as to why it would be raised. Sad to see BMW favouring form over function.

My guess is that it would create a low pressure area at the opening which would draw more air out.

That is very good play....the front fender flares might not be that wide and I feel that BMW will slightly change the headlight design-shape for the M3 compared to regular 3 series.
Again this is very good rendering, we have yet to see how the rear bumper will look and if it will have similar vertical slot openings on the sides to match the front.

so you're comparing the coupe msport to the sedan? check out the e90 lci msport.

that's pretty much the same to me. even more similar shapes than compared to e92 with minor differences.

imo the curves to the msport don't match the angles of the front of the car. they could have made it something more like the new 6..

^^^This is an excellent rendering of the F80 M3.^^^

The only lacking part that needs to be done are the side mirrors. This rendering has dumbo ears. It would be nice if you could make it e90/e92 M3 style. That would definitely complete the look. I know I"m already asking too much, but throwing in a carbon roof will not hurt right? Heheheheheh.

I forgot to add one more thing to my post above (#88) to really complete the look.... If the F80 M3 will end up looking like your rendering, you should also start incorporating LED's into the headlights.

Your rendering really captures the way it looks without the camo. Just add the M3-style mirrors and the LED's on the headlights and I guess we now know how the next M3 will look like.

I do agree that the overall design language is the same, and expectedly so, but the individual styling details are markedly different between the two cars. It's a fine line that BMW has to walk -- the jump from the E46 to the E90 was a revolutionary one, so the designers had a cleaner slate to work with. The E90 to F30 transition is much more evolutionary, so the designers need to maintain some connection between the two generations while still giving the new car its own distinctive cues, which I think they've done.
