I'll translate. What he meant to say was "I felt compelled to say something disparaging about the new M3/4 for the 628th time, and that's all I could think of."

Um you guys missed the point. Don't get so emotional. Pries said that the M3/M4's engine is an animal and I don't dispute that. And I'm saying that then tuners get a hold of that motor it will be an even more dangerous animal. All bmw's sold in the US are detuned from their full potential so just relax tough guy.

If anyone is getting over worked is you Hercules. I don't think anything in my reply to you suggested being tough specially with a smiley face. Perhaps you should relax your self. The tuners will have a hard time cracking this car like the f10 M5 but it's a matter of time.

Tough guy out :-)

Thanks for explaining. It's really hard to understand what people mean over the internet. Honestly, I had no idea what you meant (good or bad) even after the previous comment. This clears it up.

It is kind of funny that everyone thought you meant it in a bad way, just because you own an E92 M3 FWIW, I may just buy a used E92 once the F8x hits, because I really want to own a car with a V8, just for the experience. If things keep progressing the way they are, we won't be able to buy a new car with a N/A V8 within a couple of years.

And that's truly sad independent of what type you currently want. I will miss the choice and option to swap between the types as they progress. Here's to hoping Porsche will offer both a NA and FI car even if it's just the GT3 for at least another decade or two.

I'm willing to bet that the majority of aftermarket tuners will be able to crack the F8X M's code within a few weeks hooking into the ECU.

I've only had my E92 M for a year and I can tell you that even though it's not a TORQUE monster it keeps the smile on north of 4000 rpm's but the F8X will offer a totally different experience. I've never owned a FI car but this could be my first.

I'd search this forum about the mods of the new M cars before saying that, it doesn't look too promising. They are saying that even the M5 which has been out for more than 2 years haven't been cracked yet.

I've swapped a handful times between FI and NA. To me, each feel crappy due to their inherent relative weaknesses at first. Weaknesses that you learn to mitigate over time and just lean on the strengths which then are sorely lacking at temporary switches. I.e give it some time if you are not immediately sold. It has worked for me every time.
