It appears that probably most if not all the cloth seats have that small defect that Definitive have pointed out.

Either way, I think it would be much better if they offered alcantara seats as oppose to cloth, kind of like the B8.5 S4's. I think that would sway more people towards that over leather.

FWIW, in the second batch of cloth photos, it looked tremendously better. So long as you like it, that's all that matters. Congrats again on the car.

The C63 offers the half-leather, half-alcantara option as well.

I know Sedan Clan has seen this photo of mine more than a few times haha.

Hey Rick I could not send you a PM but here are my thoughts about MT.

I owned X5M and I just don't like automatic.I also owned both E90 and E92 M3. I had on both of them problems when reving above 8000 did not want to shift sometimes in to next gear but only from 1st to 2nd. I think that E9X MT was not that good. I test drove the new 7 speed MT Porsche last year and that is great MT. Also drove from a friend the S2000 and that was very good. The new F80 is very close. Shifts are not as short but better then E9X M3. Clutch is little bit firmer but still light.Rev match is great wish it would be in sport plus. I think that F80 is the best MT BMW has build.
I hope this helps I am personally very happy.

Hmm, that diagonal pattern at the seam above the M logo really is all over the place.

That being said, these pics look great and really show off cloth beautifully. Also, pretty sure that's merino leather grain which, in black, will wear like iron. That interior with the most minor of care is going to look amazing in 100k miles.

Really torn on this.

IND... thanks for posting these pics.

I think that the cloth looks great.

Any color as to how it feels? Does it seem like it will clean up easily? I have a 1 year old whose mess I need to worry about.

Not just the 8.5. I had a B8 S4 (first model year) w/ the alcantara and LOVED IT! Overall I wish the car felt a little more raw and ultimately got rid of it 18 months in to get the 335is, but I did love that alcantara. I, too, think that BMW should have opted for it as standard/option.

Nate, GREAT pics, finally. Why did it take so long for someone to grab actual high quality pics of the cloth. This makes it look 10X better than any other pics before. Aaaaaand I changed my order to leather. I'm sticking with leather, I swore to my SA but after seeing these pics....

Anyway you can get a close-up on the seat-back material? How does it feel to the touch? Is it plasticky/slippery and rough? I got the cloth seats because I wanted to stick to my seat better.

Look at this picture, just few months old car and leather already looks ugly (in terms of condition of it). That's why I'm getting cloth.

While I agree the leather looks like shit here I think this MAY be a special case. This car is a press car and it has less than 4,000 miles on it. This kind of wear in 4,000 miles? This car has probably seen more laps and asses than some porn stars.
