They could at least have thrown in the rear OLED at that price. Can't even imagine how much the M4 CS will cost. $110,000?

You can use UK pricing difference between M3 CS and M4 CS, to estimate M4 CS msrp.

Good point. Still makes it close to $105,000. Not including taxes. $115,000 with taxes in Illinois No wonder people are leaving the State.

The CS' rear deck spoiler (Gurney flap) is more about function than aesthetics.
Right, who couldn't use more downforce? Who said anything about aesthetics?

Just buy the real one from BMW when it becomes available.

You think they'll make that available? Like the GTS wing was?

IMO, they will see the money to be made and add it to the Mperf catalog. I put a ebay special on and if the real deal looks better/reasonable price, i will eventually purchase.

IND already sell the M4CS one, it is only a question of time before they offer the M3CS one.

Ok, yeah, I see. The other things is, similar aero parts may also be available from other manufacturers with comparable quality for a lower price (though I am just guessing).

I notice you don't list a splitter among your current mods. Do you have one that you put on for track use?

I got the CF diffuser and rear deck spoiler for cosmetic reasons only (yes, go ahead, call me a poseur ).

I did not go with the front lip because I do not like the two CF side splitter cover-ups that need to be paired with the MP lip. Further, I do not think it provides a meaningful performance improvement.

I actually feel bad for them that they didn't buy a loaded Accord or Camry that they would probably be much happier with.

I also see it on the other end and I know you do to (which is where your utter hatred for Porsche maybe comes in). You see the rich guy buy the Porsche/Ferrari/GT350R/ZL1 etc that he has no idea how to drive in a quick manner around a track or worse is downright dangerous to everybody else out there. Or they buy them and stuff them in a garage for an "investment" . Any way I see all kinds of them. My last track day I had a guy in a brand new ZL1 that was clearly outmatched by everybody else even guys in stock WRXs. He would barely let anybody by and especially wasn't going to let me buy in my GT350 because he was a Chevy guy. He was driving off track throwing rocks at people's cars and all over the track. He was very popular in the pits/staging area.

Anyway sorry for the OT. I just feel with each M3/4 edition they just keep missing the mark and are doing it on purpose IMO. If this had some actual substance (instead of just software, hood and tuning tweaks) over a ZCP besides the entire catalog of supposed M Performance parts I would be more intrigued. But, who am I to talk as BMWs business plan is apparently working as people keep gobbling them up regardless of how badly they are being gouged. I just wonder how this business plan will hold up over time and when the economy inevitably does a downturn. I wonder what the next M3/4 base price is going to be.

Last, I'm no Porsche fanboy and have the same issues with them that I have with BMW. I love my GT350, but I would also like a sports car with more refinement and luxury that can still be tracked, which is why I still hang around checking out the BMWs latest offerings. For me and I'm guessing a lot of others when you cross the 100k mark it is something psychological that says if I'm going that far, I might as well keep going. Hence why I would take a 911 GTS over a CS of any kind as it stands. I feel like I'm getting much more for my money performance wise etc.
Great post here. I was all in on BMW with my former E46 M3 and E92M3's...went for the M4 and sold it within a year. Plenty fast enough but sounds like shit and too pedestrian for a true M car.

Throw the M3/M4 interior in the GT350 and it's a grand slam. The GT350 is already a home run and the interior is greatly improved but still needs work. That won't, however, keep me from buying one in mid 2018.

BMW and Porsche prices have gotten so damn far out of control. They are not the "Lone Rangers" on this but they seem to have jumped the most to me over the pat 5 years.

Never thought I'd consider a Mustang variant but with Ford (and Chevy) stepping up their game combined with the ongoing absurdity of pricing and watering down of the M division at BMW...one would be fool not to take a look at the Blue Oval and/or Bow Tie.

There is no damn way I'm paying $100K for an M3/M4

OBD tuners saying they can upload a CS engine map for circa $1000 makes the case for these $100k editions even tougher, if that's the correct.

Over the years I have contemplated purchasing a Ford. Back in 2012 my local dealer (North County Ford) wanted 20k over MSRP for a Boss 302 instead I purchased a new Z06 with a 20k discount (One can get close to 20% or better off the price of 2017 Z06 currently). Fast forward to this year and I was looking at a Raptor to replace my Tacoma 4X4 and most dealers are marking them up 20 to 30k bringing the selling price from the high 80's into 100k. I understand I live in San Diego County and prices are interesting to say the least. Looking at Cars.com most GT350's are hovering around 85k. I have given up on Ford at least in San Diego County and the dealership pricing.

I certainly understand the frustration there. Just look outside CA and get one for MSRP. Even if you have to transport it in. There are tons of them out there at MSRP........both GT350's and Raptors. I am looking to replace my Tundra 1794 with a Raptor as well. Got to wait until June for lease to expire first.

I am not paying anyone a dime over MSRP for ANY CAR/TRUCK.

I don't expect anything. I negotiate the best deal I can get. If the deal is over MSRP, I walk.

Not to go too OT here, but the So Cal market and San Fran/Silicon Valley market are the most insane I've ever seen. It can be a pain in the ass, but if you are able to go outside of those markets you can usually and easily find a decent deal (for any brand).

I will say though dealing with Ford dealers on their "special" cars can be a very frustrating experience.

It just all depends on how bad you want a specific car. As said previously, if it isn't worth it than to you then walk.
