Maintenance warranty refresh - What should I expect to pay?

Looking to sell my M5 and get into an M4.
In-Service date is 8-2014, but the Maintenance will not transfer unless I do a refresh.
Brakes are at 7mm so I should be able to get brakes out of the refreshed warranty.

Any Tips for me.
Thanks

I believe mine was $700.00. The odd thing was, I had to fight for it. They wanted to sell me the extended warranty package which was almost $4k. Ridiculous.

Thanks.
I talked to BMW N/A they said prices could be different at each dealership.
So, I guess I shop it around and see if I could pick it up for the best deal possible.

Thanks again.

Does the refresh only apply to transferring it? What if you are the original owner - is extended warranty the only option?

Yep, applies to transfer of ownership. It's not extended or anything, it just transfers the original manufacturer's warranty from one owner to the next.

It's not really worth the refresh depending on how old your car is. Most of the concerns they were bringing up to try to hardsell to me was the refresh would cover brake pad replacements. After reading up on the F8X, most ppl can ride the brake pads for a good 60-80k miles, so if you don't track your car, what's the point?

Oil changes, most likely will cost less than the refresh if that's all you go in for. Overall, waste of $.

Don't forget the spark plug changes.

Depending on the remaining mileage it can make sense. Oil change and spark plug materials alone can equal the transfer cost. Then the dealer does the work while it's under warranty. This way if anything goes wrong, it's not on you.

That's my take. After 50k I revert back to DIY.

The extended warranty on my wife's 2011 335is Coupe, which was less than $4k, got us a new water pump, all four TPMS sensors, and then a new long block when it spun a rod bearing at 72,000 miles, last month.

Nice play on the warranty. They must have given you a whole new engine?
