Isn't your M2 setting the default start up setting? Seems like a waste no?

New owner here. Is there any appreciable difference between comfort and sport steering? I've heard Sport+ is way too heavy but I'd like to just have one steering setting all the time for consistency.

Yes. Big difference. FWIW, I have my comp pack M3 set to sport plus steering and my non-comp M4 set to sport steering.

Yes there is a difference in all 3 modes. Try them all out for a little bit and find which one you like the most.

Why do you have them set up that way?

BMW made huge changes to the software and programming when the comp pack was released. Sport plus steering in the M3 is as close to sport in the M4 as I can get. After 2.5 years of the M4, I have come to love the heavy steering feel. Most will probably prefer sport steering as opposed to sport plus....

In the M Driving school, they advice to keep the steering in comfort for the most natural feel which is what I actually prefer. I feel more in control vs the artificially heavy sports and sports+ is a big no no for me unless I was going to the Autobahn and planning to drive at 200+ KM/H

Agreed. I normally prefer heavy steering, but it just feels so artificially boosted to me in the other modes.

Yeah, it's were I have settled as well, comfort. Took some time to get there but sport and sport+ have even less steering feel, if that's possible?

I cannot decide if I should leave the M1 on the first parameters or the following. I don't hit the quarter mile all the time but it doesn't bother me to switch every time I want to spirit drive either. But those are my 2 modes, M1 for spirited daily and quarter mile and M2 for track days.

M1: Spirited Driving/Quarter Mile Mode (more for spirited driving)
- Throttle: Sport Plus
- Suspension: Sport
- Steering: Sport Plus
- Transmission: S3
- DSC: On
- HUD: M View

Alternate M1: Quarter Mile Mode/Spirited Driving (more for quarter mile mode)
- Throttle: Sport Plus
- Suspension: Sport
- Steering: Sport Plus
- Transmission: S3
- DSC: On
- HUD: M View

M2: Track Mode
- Throttle: Sport Plus
- Suspension: Sport Plus
- Steering: Sport Plus
- Transmission: S3
- DSC: MDM
- HUD: M View

Never programming Sport+ throttle again since last time I forgot and dumped the clutch on a downshift. Also I'm not race car driver enough for MDM mode.

You could program the second fob and designate it as your drag strip key.

Even better, use the third "user profile" for track/drag settings and program one of the "radio preset" buttons to call the profile up. That's what I did

One quick question: When I tap the paddles, the M1 moves throttle/transmission to Sport+/S3. Sound correct?
