damper rebuilds?

Is this an acceptable condition to receive a damper back from rebuild? I reached out to the shop and they told me this is rare but normal.

For reference this was taken right before I boxed it up.

I personally would want it back in the same condition I sent it in. It looks like they used something to clean it and it ate away at the finish?

I'd be mad. A few tool marks, whatever. They decimated the finish.

I guess the age of having businesses with pride in their work has ended.

Geeze. Dunno who did the rebuild but that got mangled.

When I last sent my mcs back for rebuild by mcs they came back hood as new.

Good thing you took pics before sending out.

I reached back out to the shop. The owner thinks this might have resulted from a manufacturing defect and they are helping me out.

It looks like they exposed it to a chemical that ruined the finish. I hope they make it right and replace it for you.
