Oh I didn't realize that okay. Guess I have to get more used to using my foot. I only noticed I switch in between the two, using my foot or hand on steering.

I saw this on Instagram earlier today. The video game Need for Speed Unbound is getting an update soon to add the G81 M3 Touring, along with some custom mods. One of them is interesting, I'll post it here.

Interesting that Speedhunters, the company partnering for this update, gave it a more traditional front grille. Looks cool, not perfect but just interesting. I'd post this in the G8x section but I'd prefer to not get banned, might want to post there in the future haha

It’s still a work in progress. Moving all week has me drained. I’m still awaiting the TV covers for the unit in the garage and the unit on the back patio, and I have a new dining area rug en route. I need to decorate the office space too.

Thanks for posting!! We moved into our place in 2021, so we are moving into the "inertia" phase now (where you basically stop improving/decorating/updating). Your post has given me some good ideas to keep improving my place - thanks!

Any time! Maybe this will now morph into the home improvement thread. Any pics of your current set up?

I got new mirror caps today!

Got factory ones off a forum member for only $1200 shipped. One part of one tab (they attach top and bottom) is broken off which he didn't even know but they hold just fine.

I am considering the fire extinguisher thing as well. A guy on RennList sells the OEM Gloria extinguishers.

Also think the empty vents draw more attention to the weirdness of the grill.

Btw love how someone sells bolster protectors…what a business.

People must wear through those bolsters often. They are super popular in the Porsche GT world.

Are you planning to do anything else significant to your car?

Least with the Porsche GT buckets, I can see why they are due to the design of the seats itself. When you get in, or get out, there is a high probability of your shoe touching the front edge of the seat, even if you pull your seat to the back (which I do). Then there is the wear and tear of the bolsters if you use it to get out via your hands or get in and out and your legs scrape it on the way out/or in. Then there is your body size too.

That's why I ended up doing it. I was going to already but I just held off because I didn't think I would require it but after realizing with 420ish miles, I do still touch it by accident going in and out, I kind of have to. Not to mention, I am being careful and I still touch it. I won't even think how passengers unused to buckets will do when they get in or out.

Ed told me he is a little behind by a week, but I replied I am not in a rush anyway so it is okay.

I had the OE CF tips on the last car and so I'm looking to do those again. There's a set off a car for sale on here and I offered $50 shy of what he was asking and got railed at. They're still for sale, so I'll wait it out or just pay full price if I want those. I went on an exhaust search in the interim and honestly there was nothing that really wowed me. I either like the sound and hate the looks or like the looks and hate the sound. Why I keep going back to the OE CF tips. Other than that the MPHAS would be next. Doubt I'd tune it, but if I did I'd go with Carbahn for the warranty and especially after I listened to Steve Dinan on the Smoking Tire. A lot of thought goes into his work, which I appreciate.

Maybe some other OE stuff like the rear brake M clips since I didn't get those on my car. Looked at the LCI tails and not worth the $ to me. To me, every $2500-3k is a RT ticket to Munich for my driving adventures using my method - book LH economy and upgrade via their portal. I'm on my 5th iteration of that in 3 years, averaging about $2800 per trip for RT business. Easier to spend on the reversible mods like the CF exterior parts. Harder on the stuff like HAS kit which I know I'd never remove. The tips require cutting of stock muffler tips, so they'd likely be permanent too.

Honestly, who knows?!

I didn’t realize the tips required actual cutting. Grrrr!

They didn't for the F8X cars and I had them on my M2...easy peasy install. For this car they get trimmed by about an inch and then the bottom pin sawed off then they slip on and twist and "lock" (not really) around the top pin so they can't slide off. I think there were issues with the F8X MPE tips sliding off that led to this design. Still, you'd think BMW would engineer a tip that could slide on without cutting.

The best approach in my opinion for ingress/egress of LWBS is to fall in and roll out. The motion should be fluid and only require two steps. I personally do not touch the arm rest (center console) as the Alcantara will wear like crazy if you're using it to prop yourself up; however, I use the steering wheel. This method and approach was shared by the delivery specialists at the PEC when I picked up the car. It all sounds a bit ridiculous in or out of context, but it's effective. If I have passengers, which is rare I simply help them in and out. My wife has it down pat now. Also, beware if your significant other wears heels. They can easily damage the door sill if not careful upon ingress or egress.

The bolster protectors are also a great investment as the bolsters will get destroyed over time. Do you plan to purchase seat inserts?

Oh man - I love running! Over time, I have gone more and more into being almost exclusively Asics. Gel Kayano for "daily miles," easy runs, or distance. Right now I'm using MagicSpeed for faster workouts. The carbon shoes really do make a difference in speed. I have some Hoka Rocket X that I also use for speed work. I am annoyed at the Kayanos, as I feel they have gone down in durability and quality. They used to easily last me 450ish miles, but now they are barely making 300.... Also, Asics has made the Kayanos look more like the "super shoes." I don't want all of my shoes to be carbon plated super shoes. I have noticed that my cadence is less when using the carbon plated shoes, even though I'm running faster paces. So, I like to use the non-carbon shoes mostly so that my cadence stays high. Anyways.... I could go on and on...

I missed that this had become a running thread. I don't need to go into that addiction here. I was Asics Nimbus for about 15 years until they went to shit around the 23 and then messed around with others and got back with the 25 which I love and try to keep finding because I'm scared of what they might have done with the 26. Mileage wise, nothing lasts what it used to. They're all just junk now from what I can gather. There was an article in WSJ weekend a couple weeks back about some new French brand that's supposed to be good for 600 miles...but doesn't come in a wide!
