Me, I did the opposite. Went from my 2014 C-7 to my YMB/blk DCT, M4. C-7 was my 7th vette. For me it was the entry/exit issue and the YMB. It's my DD in the summer. Took me 25 hrs to sell the vette on the C-7 forum and then it was game on for the YMB! Love your Z-06. Rode in a buddy's and no doubt they are a beast. Enjoy !!!!

Wow! Congratulations! I really considered that exact car before purchasing my M4, but didn't want to wait.

Luckily this was a '15 sitting in the showroom next to a '16 Z07, so I got a good deal and good trade values. I waited 5 months for my e92 and 4 months for my f82, so I totally understand where you're coming from!

I was torn between 2015 z06 and m4 and I went back and forth between the 2, but I went with the m4 because of all the quality issues.

That's one of the few cars that would draw me away from the M. I've thought about getting one but with 2 little boys a 2 seater is out of the question. I wish I could own both!!

Does it feel twice as crazy as the M4? I can imagine it would.

It's nothing extreme, just 2LZ with a good deal attached to it. I figure I can buy the things I really want. I definitely thought the PSC2 ties, CCBs, and Z07 wheels were overkill.

Thanks man. I appreciate the kind words. It was a blast out there. Sure, the M4 I had was pulling on stock Z06s after I played with map 6 and 7 more, but the LT4 takes to basic, cheap mods extremely well. I would have needed Jesse's stage 2 turbos and meth to even get close.

Brief? Totally different dynamics. To be honest, I need to recalibrate and driver mod. Give me a couple days with the car and I can probably give some good insight.
Nice looking car, performance monster.

What mods are you planning?

What are the gains per mod for those of us that aren't aware?

Yeah, there were no Z06s in red slated for San Diego and I would have needed to order.

So what are your plans for the car?

I so jealous

Beautiful car... I have been flip flopping between the Z06 and a 991 CS/GTS for next Spring. The Z06 is a much better performance car but the 911 is maybe a bit better for a DD. The Z06 is WAY less money too... I might be back in a C7 and keep the M4 as a DD

Congrats!

Which quality issues were your concern?

With 2 little boys, there's no way I would have this either. (unless I picked up another car for traveling with them) Luckily, I wont have kids for a couple years.

It's pretty insane, but coming from a tuned F82, its not the power that blows me away. The handling and sound are just absolutely breathtaking.

Right now, I'm trying not to go mod crazy like I did on the F82. I think first on the list is going to be an intake. There are two big players in the market on that side right now and both are showing gains of roughly 40+whp and 30+whp (Ridiculous to think about coming from my E46 M3 to E92 M3 to F82 progression where cheap power is non-existent) Second will probably be a set of American Racing long tube headers. They are supposed to be good for roughly 30whp/30wtq, so also, pretty astonishing.

Here is a link to a guy who put a couple grand into his and the results are pretty ridiculous.

That makes sense. Here in Arkansas there are plenty See above for current plans.

Congrats!
The Porsche will definitely be the better of the 2 for DD, but I guess I have to ask....do you want to pay more money for the niceness and comfort, or pay less money for the performance and rawness? Many like the first, I prefer the latter. Totally a personal preference.

Have you driven a Z06? I would say you should definitely check one out. The interior blew me away (nothing special compared to the F8x, but WAY better than previous Vettes) simply because I had low expectations. There are way more user defined settings for the driver compared to the BMW and Pcar (Exhaust notes, driving mode settings, auto-rev matching selective switches, etc) GM definitely got that right. Last note, if you are concerned with noise- never fear. You can throw it in comfort or efficient and with the valves closed, you'd never know you had an LT4 under the hood.

I haven't driven the C7 Z06 but I owned a C7 Z51... loved that car and the Z06 is it on super steroids!!

It is! Minor bolt-ons make it that much more crazy, too. I think my favorite part about this car is that it's seriously just a driver's car that is meant to be driven. The M4 was a luxury rocket that screams quality, classy, and precise. I like to compare it to a UFC fighter in a suit and tie. The Z06 is more like Kimbo Slice from his backyard fighting days- brutal and unrivaled. The driver-centric design and the handling is just something I've never experienced before. I'd love to do a direct comparison with a 991 GT3. The new C&D Lighting Lap gave it extremely high praise.

beautiful car man. I'm looking forward to updates after a bit of ownership.

it's so funny hearing that you don't consider the 650hp to be fast because of how nutty your m4 was lol..

enjoy the car, man!
