As someone who is going through this exact same build process I am stoked to see your progress. I bought a f31 a few months ago and started looking for the donor as soon as I got the car home. Donor was just dropped off at the shop on Thursday.
The wife and I are going on a road trip which will be the last road trip as a f31 next week. As soon as we get back it's going into the bodyshop for the facelift and then it's getting the transplant. |

Good luck.
It is extremely ambitious. We all know BMW pays attention to us (whiners here) at BP.

I would think BMW knows us well enough that we want a M3 Wagon in the states!

They do. The trick is homologation which is a big expense for BMW. Reading the most recent update to the Change.org petition, they would love to send one here, but for it to make financial sense to them, they would probably be looking at selling it for $90-$100k along with a deposit (those are my guesses at numbers, not BMW's). What they would need to know is our willingness to open our wallets. If we can give them an idea of what we're willing to spend, it would help further the discussion. I know we don't love talking about $ here, but that's where we are.

I like the idea and will tune in to see your progress!
I think you should do the project for you and not get too disappointed if BMW doesn’t listen. Quite a few people have been doing well-executed E46 M3 wagons over the years and BMW never gave a shit. But at least you’ll have the car you want as the fruit of your labor! |

Hopefully throughout the process I can get a sense of what would truly make the business case for BMW.
The reason I'm hopping on this so early is really two factors: • I just bought the F80 • We're far enough ahead of production of the (confirmed) G81 that there's as strong a chance as possible that plans can be changed. Or at least, one can hope

*Update*
Picked up the F31 for a good value in Colorado Springs, and i'm putting some loving road-trip miles on it for the next few weeks before i disassemble and put the angle grinder to it over the winter. ;P

I love the idea, great website as well
You could add a place where normal people can subscribe for updates. Currently it's only for dealerships and other important entities, not regular people Also, if you build it and figure out what it costs if you're going to build more you could build a small business. I would love a 6MT or DCT F81! |

I would take one of these in a heartbeat. Hell, I would take a G21 with the B48 if they sold it here!
