Yup for the money 991.2 GTS 7MT please!

M4 GTS prices are already as low as $119K and once the CS is launched it will take a massive depreciation hit because some components/elements of the GTS are now shared with a lesser variant that costs $40K less.

I know for a fact that you all that can't afford a Porsche really wish you could, because you would/should jump ship from the M brand, ASAP! M brand will be a total joke within the next 5 years, especially since they now want to cease production of the DCT and manuals are all but dead within BMW. The only appeal left with M is affordability, but even that is starting to reach P-car prices.
I agree on a lot of your points but there is only one GTS at $119,000 and it is used with 1,700 miles . Most of them are selling at MSRP or a bit more (new ones). But they are selling: 15 less on cars.com than the last time I checked. Once they are gone, we will get an idea of the real depreciation. I think you are dreaming if you think the CS will cost $40,000 less than the gts...
I would love to be proven wrong on that though...a $90,000 CS would be great!

Interesting that the 7:35 time around the 'Ring is still 3 secs slower than the Alfa. I expected the CS to be faster.

wow, there are so many shitty assumptions in this post that none of them deserve to be edited out - congratulations!

(1.) Your math skills. The M4 I'm getting is ~$90k MSRP. A comparable 911 is ~$133k, which is 48% more expensive, and that's just sticker - if you compare financing it's more around 57% more depending.

(2.) Your product skills. Nobody buying a car for more than basic transportation is doing so based on logic; it's emotion/$=value and, for many people, a porsche just doesn't have 48% more emotion.

(3.) Your forecasting. Five years from now, nobody's going to be too distracted with combustion engine transmissions.

I'm not comparing the desirability of the two cars. Comparing the cost, gains, components, etc. of what are two performance/track upgrade packages.

Winner of the best post on this thread! Why can't people just buy what they want without the need for justification or the immediate comparison to something "better."

I've got to agree here. The P-Car nut-swinging gets somewhat old after awhile and I love Porsche.

North of $115,000, better to get the GTS for the exclusivity (unless you really need 4 seats). Every one out of 3 M4s manufactured after January 2018 is going to be a CS (minimum of 1,000 per year)
Uh oh

Prices might rise big mouth is at it again

until they go and get lease prices on their dream 911 and then they'll be bitching about Porsche. Most of the 991.2 s i've seen on dealer lots are 133k+ and a lease will be at or above 3k a month with minimum drive off.

The truth is that the car will sell for whatever the market can take. if it can't sell for 1xx,xxxx then it will sit on the showroom and the dealer will be forced to take discounts.

Not me.

A proper car is front engine rear drive. If you want an exotic car that can double as a poster on your 16 year old boy's bedroom wall then put the engine any where u want.

I am sure the M4 CS is a very good car but with cars like the M4 CS you wind up with a car that can't really be driven at anywhere near its limits on the street but is not optimized as a dedicated track car.

Like it or not with very few exceptions you are not going to see manufacturers offering MTs in cars that are positioned as track cars.

The M235i factory racer comes with a ZF 8 Speed planetary geared, torque converter AT.
