Yes it was great seeing you as well and was a lot of fun, too bad Jerry can't make it next week. He is working on getting something to kill some dB on his exhaust for July 13 as to avoid a repeat.

Hopefully we get a nice day next Thursday. How is the Virages event run, I've never been out with them in the past, wondering how they slot in new members are you an instructor with them as well?

That was also part of my problem... Combination of mistakes mixed together.

You CAN get on the throttle earlier for a bit of fun but be prepared to counter the oversteer and whatever you do don't get off the throttle which shifts all the weight to the front and induces a spin

Actually you SHOULD be on the throttle earlier. As I posted, if you get the line just right, you should be WOT as soon as you get off the apex curb (on the left). You also need to avoid touching the curb at track out (on the right). If the rear steps out or if you can't be WOT, your line isn't quite right.

OT: Anyone got an alignement job done at a garage in the greater Montreal region ? During my paid inspection the dealer said my passenger wishbone ($600) needs to be replaced which requires an alignement job ($400). I am wondering for such a job to go to a garage (like VAG) where they charge $125 for an alignment. CanAutM3 have you done any?

Apparently BMW mandates to replace some bolts/parts for an alignment job... don't know if this is BS or VAG skimps on the proper procedure. F8x doesn't have front camber adjustment, front toe adjustment doesn't require any part replacement nor does rear axle adjustment.

FYI since I found it, F82 wheel alignment data.

VAG did the alignment on the M2 after I changed my springs. Very satisfied. BMW Laval too after an event on the track. Also very satisfied.

The price difference was as steep as you mentioned however. Maybe 25-50$ difference. Not more. But I didn't have to change any parts...

On the fly camber adjustment is indeed not possible on the F8X. However, camber can be adjusted by installing different OE "swivel bearings" that alter the top bearing position. All other adjustments are done by screwing component. Tire rods for front toe and eccentric bolts for rear camber and toe. No parts need to be replaced.

I did my latest alignment at GTA Auto Performance in St-Hubert. The owner is an old friend of mine and he recently purchased a super fancy alignment machine. I am always amazed what a good alignment does to a car.

Thanks, I'll give them a shout next week for an estimate. When they installed my latest winters, I recall they quoted a very lower alignment job but maybe I am forgetting...BTW what springs did you go with?

Thanks CanAutM3 for confirming what I thought. I must be a very insensitive driver, had an alignment done once and couldn't notice much difference, or maybe i got used to having a misaligned wheel settings bcoz of our lovely roads here (pre COVID).

Even with this loose passenger side wishbone, not sure if I do notice anything. The dealer said not to roll on it too long, funny who is driving much anyways!

I had the Eibach Pro V2 on the M3, make sure to avoid larger potholes as you will feel them substantially more than your OEM springs

Have 0 experience with aftermarket springs, but it seems reviews all over the place. Did you try another make on your previous M3?

Negative, only those but I did try H&R Sport on my previous two 335s. Same deal, potholes are brutal. I would look into M Perfomance HAS for your M4. You can adjust the height and the spring rate is probably more inline with factory specs. That's what I have now and much better ride.

Not necessary however it does look better.

I think you should go with lower springs: you will feel lower gravity but you will also feel more the bumps on our great Montreal roads.

Don't bother with spacers IMHO: you will also need longer bolts. But as avantix mentionned, it does look better (tires more flush to fenders). Note: I do not have spacers.

Oh i think i get what you are saying... H&R are lower than Eibach Pro. For F82:

- Eibach Pro Kit, E10-20-037-01-22, 0.8"/0.4" (F/R)
- H&R Sport Springs, 1.5"-1.8" (F/R)

That's crazy and way low for an older gentleman like me BTW, VAG alignment is indeed $100 vs $399 at the dealer. I just got a quote back for replacing the passenger wishbone.

PS: miss our club members, maybe we can plan a COVID friendly get together ?
