The Vorsteiners have been excellent for me. Offsets are perfect too.

I haven't seen anything negative posted about them either, and put them on my car. If a company has a sketchy history, fair enough, but it's downright ignorant to just bash on a company because they're new(ish). I have absolutely zero vested interested in this debate, and totally get and respect brand loyalty, but until a company gives me a reason not to trust them when many others already have and it looks like they offer a decent product I'll buy it. If my wheels take a significant hit in value because of their reputation a couple years from now who cares? By then chances are I would have already more than negated that hit by being a dumbass and rashing them on a curb.

10-15 years is a relatively long time. Who in the hell would have bought an Apple product 15 years ago, unless you were in their niche market?

Just my 2 cents. Take it as with everything else, with a grain of salt. Do your own research and vote whatever bias you have with your wallet. I sure did.

WOW! That's quite a slanderous statement. I would hope you could back that up with facts? I've had 6+ sets of Klassen Wheels on my various BMWs over the years. Check my builds. The offset, quality and finish has been incredible. That's why I continue to buy them... and I have definitely tried other brands. All Klaassen's I've owned have been forged wheels with beautiful finishes that have never had one issue... Maybe you could provide some real facts that would justify your statements?

Yes, some of the companies mentioned have a checkered past......(ADV.1 sure) but your blanket statement simply isn't true...and it's bullshit.

If I could buy any wheel right now it would have to be the VMRs they are doing on the f80.

I am also thinking of replacing my wheels, but I want something light, not something just for show,

I placed an inqury on the OZ Leggera HLT in 20inch, saw them in person on a Audi RS6 and they are just great. Priced around 2.000eur for all 4.

What do you think of the G25?
I think both ZE40 and G25 are great wheels, but if I was to get Volks it would be TE37s
They're the same widths and offsets across the board:

- g25
- te37
- Ze40

9.5 width front +22 offset

11 width rear +34 offset

Fitment is awesome on the M3/M4
like most wheel companies, rear offset is good but front needs to be more aggressive, imo

The brands that I suggest checking out (besides already listed HRE/BBS) are:

- Volk
- Forgeline

All three brands produce quality wheels with many different styles.

Something cool to check out might be the Klassen R series which have just been released

Quality made in the USA wheel without a breaking the wallet. Clears CCB in 19/20".
I REALLY Like those

Track set up 18" Forgeline GS1R in Graphite. Custom offsets. 18x10 et 22 and 18x11 et 44. I can fit a 315 tire in the rear if I wanted to. Cheers!

No beauty brands here, my vote would be Rays Engineering! I think they know a few things after 43 years, ask how long the other guys have been around!

Agreed, only BBS and VOLK and I will add WORK too

HRE is another boutique wheel brand and they just happen to have better marketing team than other brands.

More food for thought: Resale value is a good way to judge demand and it seems BBS wheels always command the most money. All the other brands take a 50-60% hit on the used market.

This is my 2 cents.

It's not all about the brand, especially with forged wheels. It's the manufacturer that's the more relevant point. All of the reputable European and Japanese brands originate from one of a handful of foundries. High Tonnage Forging presses are enormous, expensive, and not something that a company just buys to start business. We're installing 2 additional presses over the next year (8k Ton and 12k ton) along with the necessary additional manufacturing tools at a cost of more than $300M. We have our own brands, provide blanks and par-finish wheels, as well as complete manufacturing and distribution for other 3rd party brands as well. Most of these contracts are confidential but I always find it interesting when a significant number of people will praise some of the products while simultaneously bashing another when both are from the same production line.

The industry will be changing though with the new FMVSS standards and actual oversight and regulation set to begin next year for the US. The boutique brands are going to find it difficult if not impossible to comply with their limited financial abilities.

You sure all across the board? Their ultra's have good fitment but only come in bronze and blue. Their nicer color such as SL and track edition don't even come in 19's.

Would you mind either elaborating on this or at least pointing me in the right direction so I can research it on my own?

100% agreed.

Both Volk and BBS are the first tier wheel supplier for many auto makers. No doubt on QA and QC.
