3/31/24 - Drifting/Skid Pad Rental

Hey folks. I’ve been thinking about organizing a Skid Pad Day for Bay Area folks. I’ve checked it out at Thunderhill and the prices are really quite reasonable. There is a smaller skid pad and a larger one. The smaller skid pad is $200/car for the first 5 cars then $150 for each additional car. For the larger skid pad it breaks down to $150/car for the first 10 cars, while for 11+ cars it is a flat rate of 3500.

But obviously the shared cost goes down as the number of participants goes up.

Timing-wise, I’m considering a weekend in August (a bit warm this month), September, or October.

Assuming my work schedule is clear, I’ll rjust I’ve up from SoCal. Maybe I’ll make it a small family weekend trip

I may definitely be down, as long as I still have my car. Its coming up on the 2 year mark of having my car, and I don't keep cars all that long. I'm already looking at other options.

Nice! If it can work out my thinking is that we can have an autocross course for the morning and then drifting in the afternoon (or vice versa). That way we’ll have a good mix of things to do

Good eye. But I am in fact driving, which is why it’s a tentative time range rather than a specific date. It’ll be my first time driving across country and I’m not planning on pulling an Alex Roy lol. So I’ll have my F80 with me!

I have a preference for Saturday so the 14th, 21st, and 28th for me. Totally fine for Sunday as well but just saying my first choices.

I’m bringing a buddy who is available 14/15/28/29
