Update with Shade Dealer - Don't Understand
So, I posted another thread about how this dealer told me it would be 1.5 weeks to do the PDI, you all helped me understand that that is unreasonable.
The BMW Tracker says the car was delivered to the dealership, BMW NA says it was delivered yesterday. I called the CA at this dealership and he told me that they have not received the car. In your experience, have any of you ever seen the tracker say that the car was delivered and it was not!? What should I be doing here, as I am extremely concerned with this chain of events and more than frustrated. Mind you, this is after a 3+ month delay of the original expected delivery date. The dealer is 2+ hours away from me so it's not exactly a drive by and check type thing... Please help with advice. |

Unfortunate. Then I would turn up the heat and just say WTF? They can call the auto carrier and verify. The car has to be somewhere right? Someone please do their job!!! That's what I would say...

Get on the phone with BMW NA or someone higher up than this. We all know the tracking and BMW website can be behind...but if it says the car is delivered...I can imagine the car isn't at the dealer...
Yet, I see no reason why they would hold out on you unless there is a problem with the car. It costs them money to have the car just sit around. Maybe try to find another member that is local to the dealership and have them poke around to see if it is there

Wow... this is about as shady as it gets. The CA can find out where the car is exactly. I would make him tell you.

1) Check to see if it was discharged from the Ship. If so, was it DAMAGED?
2) Check to see if it on an Auto Carrier to the dealership. They can call the carrier and find that out in real time. 3) If all checks out call the GM back and have the entire dealership workforce do a front to back search for your car. It has to be somewhere... |

I'd hedge that the dealership is liking the way your car looks on their showroom floor at the moment. With you being 2 hours away, I don't think the dealer is worried about you simply popping in and seeing your baby being fondled by perspective customers and their children. A pre-delivery "detail" will make it look like it never happened, and you will be none the wiser.

I've been there...long time ago. North of Denton if I remember correctly. College X still lives in Mansfield. So ... have you found anything yet over the past 2 hours? What are they saying exactly?

BMW NA called the dealer and the dealer told them the same thing. They are claiming it had to do with the snow fall this past weekend, which still makes zero sense to me.
I'll be following up with the dealer tomorrow and calling the GM if I don't hear a good answer. I can tell you they definitely lost my future business and will not be receiving the loan, I'll be doing that through Bank of America now. I'm sure I poisoned the well with BMW NA calling them, but I DNGAF at this point. |

An estimate for ETA (it was literally on its way to the dealer), I called the CA back and let him know it should be there soon. He went back and checked and sure enough my buddy's car was there. I drove my friend to pick it up later that day and when we arrived, the service guy was finishing up drilling the front bumper...in a way I was glad my car got there later because I would have been livid. Moral of the story is: just because you request something doesn't mean the person you tell it to will remember it or do it. So you need to follow up, remind them, and then remind them some more. |

thanks for the advice, BofA actually is very close to what i was seeing at PenFed. I'm not 100% set on the loan provider yet so I will keep looking around. BofA is offering 2.44% on a 60 month right now to me, which is pretty attractive.

he just called and the car is at the dealer. They are doing all that I've asked and leaving the plastic on the car and not drilling the front bumper.
And they said they could have it done this afternoon if I needed it to be done... my goal is to pick it up tomorrow if possible. I think that my inquiries probably got them in line a bit, but also probably fueled my own paranoia as well... |

Take pics before you peel all the plastic off. I have a bunch when I "visited" my car after it was dropped off at the dealership, before they had a chance to prep it. Its fun to look back at those pics when the car was as new as it will ever be... kinda like looking at newborn photos of your kid.
Congrats! |
