I just switched yesterday from Feb's #s to March's #s and I will save $2,883 over the lease period (including the 3 less payments).

My Old Feb #s
39 months
10k miles
MF 0.00130
Residual 63%

My New March #s
36 months
10k miles
MF 0.00129
Residual 66%

Please remind me, are these figures for European Delivery? If so, any idea what the current MF and Residual is for US delivery? Thanks!

Thanks,
Mind posting your specific numbers? My friend is considering an M3, same residual and MF as yours? How much money are you putting down, what's your monthly payment etc? Also, are you getting any military discount or other discount, beyond the price you negotiated?
Thx!

Looks like you did quite well! I think the acquisition fee can sometimes be waived or reduced to $595, otherwise, looks like you rocked! Remind me if this was for an M3 or M4?

The dealer can reduce the acquisition fee but that only means they are eating some of there cost. BMWFS charges $795; they don't care where the money comes from. Now BMWFS does allow dealers to raise the fee up to an additional $200 to $995.

US and Euro delivery figures are same. However for MF euro delivery adder is 0.0003 and BMW finanical wave second payment cause of shipping to USA. So techically its 0.00129+.0003= .00159. I would do MSD to lower it more.

Here's my deal that I closed today. I posted as well in the Post Your Deals thread. CA just sent over my production number. It's going to be a long wait.

I blocked out the dealer info originally but this deal was through Grand Blanc BMW. PM me if you'd like my CA's info. He's outstanding.

Need some input on the two "deals" that I currently have. The dealers around here apparently don't want to play ball and I am not entirely sure why. In fact the dealer who is least willing to haggle is one that my family has been a good customer of for many years (>500k worth of cars in the past couple years).

I am planning on trading my 2013 S4 in early (lease is up in October) but I can always wait. I like to start looking in advance because I find it less stressful to take my time and any haggling is easier since I am in no rush without time constraints. Plus I get antsy and want some new shiny.

Build:
M3
Manual
Silverstone/Cloth
Adaptive M
LED's
19" wheels
Power sunshade
Harmon Kardon
Black Kidneys
Stainless Pedals
Sirius Radio
MSRP: $70,170

Deal #1:
Gross Cap: $71,189 (no discount)
Cap Reduction: 1022.72
Residual: 61.3%
Miles: 17,500/yr
Money Factor: .00169 (wtf?)
Monthly (incl. taxes): $1009.79

Deal #2:
Gross Cap: $68,170
Cap Reduction: 1517.26
Residual: 63% (guess as it was not provided)
Miles: 17,500/yr
Money Factor: .00149
Monthly (incl. taxes): $923.05
**they also want 2k deposit for order which I am not too keen on.

The high payments seem to be solely due to the high money factor. How are others getting .00129 or .00130? All I am getting are excuses. I have ordered cars from out of state so that isn't an issue for me if its just these two dealers who don't want a quick sale.

Any input is appreciated.

I only had one dealer try to push a higher MF on me. If I adjust the MF to 0.00129 on either of your deals the monthly only falls by about 20-30 a month.

I'd strongly suggest shopping more dealers. It's so easy and takes little time to blast emails to a lot of dealers with the same message. I simply used the Contact Us feature on their websites and only provided an email address (a throw-away at that) and worked my deal 100% through email until I called to give them my CC for my deposit.

Obviously you have to be willing to travel for your car but in my case, shopping 23 dealers the range of offers was wide.

Let me know if you want my email that I sent. I can PM it to you.

Thanks. that would be appreciated. I have done that in the past--I basically sat down one day and called every dealer in New England and after 3 hours I had a smokin' deal. I didn't think I would have to do it because I figured my local dealer would be more willing to keep my business.

I have to calculate that out again, I did it quick yesterday and I thought the MF made a bigger difference. It seems like people here are getting a combination of discounts off MSRP and regular money factor. My higher mileage isn't helping matters either.

What is a typical deposit for ordering these cars? 2k seems very high to me and is something I would probably refuse to do but I have nothing to compare it to. I think I remember my S4 order being around 500-1000 at most. Its not like I am ordering anything particularly wacky either--except for maybe the cloth seats.

Deposit is completely negotiable. As you'll see in my email that I'll send you after I write this, I offered to give the dealer my full "due at signing" including first month's payment, acquisition fee, doc fee, taxes and registration as my deposit. When I ordered my X3 a few years back, I simply gave them $500 and paid the balance due at delivery.

Your best bet is to shop around. You will definitely find dealers that for many reasons won't deal at all as I experienced. Others won't have allocation and you'll also get no replies from some. I have to imagine you'll get a few willing to make a deal. Calling is fine, but time consuming. It probably took me fewer than 30 minutes on a Sunday morning to email 23 dealers.

SoCal dealers usually do not require deposit for lease, but run your credit application at the time of order, which is good for 90 days (west coast delivery takes a month).

Some NorCal dealer asked for 3K deposit (company policy ) and went down to 1K after being countered with another offer.

No reason (except for bad credit) for the elevated MF, esp on the east coast. You should expect to pay the base MF and should get a 3-5% discount on the car without going through too much. Too bad about your local dealer. I would also think they would give you a better deal.

Thank you! You did all the negotiating for me. I went to a BMW dealership here in Hartford CT, showed them your numbers and told them I would give them a deposit if they matched your numbers. Car should be here next week!
