Sakhir Orange ending production as of 2/15, may return 7/15 (start of MY2016)

IMO, this has been by far one of the most limited palettes of color BMW has offered in recent memory. And of the colors offered, the only ones truly appealing are SO and MG. The rest leave a lot left to be desired. AY and YMB are like the poor mans LSB and Dakar II...heck, it would be insulting to compare it to Dakar. AY is more like Phoenix Gold barf.

I agree and I hope SO returns as an option, that color keeps growing on me, and I'm a confirmed Space Gray lover! I'm kind of torn between MG and SO at the moment lol.

I also think if you are a "white car" guy, MW is pretty awesome too, as far as white colors go.

SO still looks listed on M4s and higher up the M chain, so what's the deal, is it only M3s getting shafted?

Apparently it applies to M3 and M4. Saw a few posts from people wanting the SO M4, but CA said they could not order it. So why it's still on the M4 build, who knows? Apparently non-US sites still have SO for either model.

Sounds like a phase out of the color for the F8x body style. Wonder if money had anything to do with it, at $550? If they keep it higher up the food chain, maybe so, otherwise maybe just not enough demand to keep it as an M specific color but rather put it back on the "special order list". Whatever the case, so weird we can't get a definitive answer to this query.

If SirLoin's survey is any indicator of color popularity, SO is at about 8% or 34/412 cars.

Maybe. I'm week 16 and i've been told that it won't be any issue getting my SO, nor will it delay my build at all. Time will tell I guess

You'll be fine. Many are dropping into production early too. SO for the WIN!

I hope so Rick! As I mentioned in a few other posts, I was pushed from week 11 to week 12 for some reason. I've been calling every day and still week 12 as of this morning. Before that I was consistently week 11 so I guess we'll see what happens. I'll keep you guys updated! Don't have much to complain about with the color no longer being available and another snow storm hitting this weekend! I think SO will be worth the wait!
My build:
M3, LED, Exec, CF roof, black 19s, adaptive suspension, HK, SO extended leather, DCT. Also, lots of mods planned with he first being all the OEM CF trim for the interior as well as steering wheel CF trim, Bavsound stage 1 and some coding work.

I'd be curious to how your build comes along. When did you put in the order? Did your dealer have an allocation and then go right in to Priority 1? I see some folks aren't having any build issues with CF roofs but my guy told me today they still are. Who knows?

Seems like a lot of very inconsistent information. Anyone have a good feel for this or have any current info from their dealers on recent orders?

Order was placed mid-december. The dealer swapped allocations to get my order in and I've had a prod. # since early jan. I did not want the car delivered during winter here in the NE but when I heard of the CF delays I told him I wanted the order in asap. It didn't matter. I've been week 11 ever since I had my production #. It was moved to week 12 on Feb 23 for reasons I don't know. I'll keep you updated
