Think about it. If 2-door is as easy as to go in and out as a sedan, why don't they build a coupe SUV/Minicoupe (instead of minivan ) and people are all over it?

Young kids don't let themselves out or their seat (or car) like adults do though. I've actually found it almost as easy to get them in/out of my M4 vs. my wife's SUV. But yeah, an M3 would be a bit of a better situation if you plan on using the back seats regularly. If the 2018 M3 was available when I ordered my 2018 M4, I would have probably went for it (having 2 of my own and a 3rd on the way), but we never use my car anyway

I have 3 kids and it works, 8,4 and 2. The two Little ones sit in the back and my eight year old in the front with the airbag off. Works great for around town. Long trips we take the SUV.

I just came back from a Disney trip in Europe with the car. around 400-500km from my hometown. Went with the M4 and two toddlers, 1.5 and 2.5yrs old. With stuff and stroller for a long weekend. If longer we'll take the SUV. So it is great and fun to do. As long as you have a bigger car for longer trips...

We are actually in the same boat. I have a 440 Coupe as a loaner and our toddlers (3 and 4) can get in and out and buckle and unbuckle themselves with no problem. Plus my son is a car guy and absolutely loves it! He's pushing me to get the M4!

So, you're not planning on having kids for like 3 years? And even when they climb in, you'll have to reach in to buckle them until they are about 4 or 5.
Sorry for the confusion. No kids yet. Car is still a dream but I'll be buying one soon (for my timeline). But she takes a really long time to realize that I'm right about certain things. Thus, she needs proof that people out there own 2 door cars with small children, with either rear-facing infant seats or booster seats. I'm just trying to gauge how many people out there own or plan to own 2 door cars with small children.
I never had a coupe and every time I drive them, I realize how long the doors are.
For the topic, yes I plan to have a coupe when my kids get old enough to buckle themselves in, hopefully I can reach a 911 at some point.
Also I agree with those stating M3 is a better option. It looks better in most cases and is just more family friendly. A lot more.

Guys, can someone with an M4 with possible picks of a baby and child seat installed post them here. I am about to purchase an M4 and have a 1yr old and a baby on the way. I just want to make sure the seats will fit and my wife will be able to sit in the front seat (for short drives). I can and will deal with the inconvenience of the coupe bc I love the style, but I need to know IF IT IS DEFINITELY POSSIBLE to fit both a baby rear facing seat (<1yr) and child seat (1-2yrs) in the M4.

Please let me know. Thanks again!

Definitely do-able for both, though I've yet to have anyone sit in the passenger seat with a rear facing seat in. If you're fitting both seats at once (as you mentioned), I imagine having the rear facing behind the passenger seat, and front facing behind the driver seat, would be most comfortable way to go (for the driver).

I actually don't mind the M4 when getting my 2 year old son in and out of the car, as he can climb right up into his seat. Once he's seated, I buckle him in and we're off. But getting the car seat in and out, M3 is much easier (obviously). For short drives, I think you should be fine with the M4.

And I had the F80, but traded that in for the M4, as I much prefer the coupe design.

Best of luck!

I have a five-month-old and have put the car seat in the back of my M3 once. I came from an F30 so I kinda knew what I was getting myself into. A rear-facing car seat requires the front seat to be pretty far forward which sucks, but once he is older and we can flip the seat around it shouldn't be an issue.
